Sometimes loving your husband well means just feeding him and surrendering him to the Lord. Some days, it will be easy to get him out of the dumps with words that are sweetened as honey, but other days, there is nothing to do but sprinkle the truth and leave him at the throne because either he is too stubborn, or he is simply beyond your help. This might be a place of frustration to you wives, but it should not be, for really, He is much safer in the hands of God than in your feeble ones. To leave him at the throne of grace does not mean that you abandon him or are not able to fulfill your role. On the contrary, it means that you are loving him well. Don’t allow frustration or the apparent failure of your efforts to revive his spirit to discourage you or cause your own heart to stray. It is in these moments that you must embrace prayer, and trust that the Word of God which you have reminded him of and spoken out into the air of your home or wherever you are will not return void to God but accomplish his purposes. Then, like watchmen waiting for the morning, you wait. Wait for God and watch the fulfillment of His promise of everlasting faithfulness to your husband, and to His holy Word. Watch and wait in these moments where your husband is struggling for God is far from done with your husband, your marriage, or you. Hope is not lost, and never shall be, for it remains inside the veil.
With very great love,
Lady Redeemed
