Beloved,

As I was working on a book I’ve been trying to write, this poem came out as I was talking about suffering. Enjoy this poem on Heaven, where all our suffering will be made joy, as we are finally transformed into the likeness of God’s Son and it is no longer necessary. Until then, let us not grow weary in our suffering as we remember His great love for us and the joy that awaits which far exceeds anything we cost in the present.

Oh how sweet the joy of Heaven is, sweeter still with higher cost

When we see the face of Jesus, we’ll forget all that we lost.

For in whatever loss and pain, in measure small or great

Shall we find a greater recompense when we step through the gate

When the sting of death no longer burns, and tears are not allowed

And the heaviest of burdens shall finally be laid down.

Not a moment shall we wish for a fleeting pleasure here

For our joy will be complete as the Father draws us near.

Done with the pilgrim days, finally at rest, at home.

Surrounded by our Savior’s light, and with every evil gone.

No more shall Satan’s bombs assail, or sorrow haunt the night.

With the only scars the Savior’s from the day he gave us life.

No more refining, no more fire, for the need for that is done.

As in glory we will be transformed to the likeness of the Son.

With very great love,

~Lady Redeemed
