When you feel the heaviness that will not break, write it down.
When emotions flow through tears, write it down.
When the Spirit stirs like the wind in your heart, write it down.
Though you do not yet understand the plan, write it down.
Though you struggle with the message, write it down.
Though you wrestle with the memories, write it down.
For the glory of your Master, write it down.
For the love of your brother and your sister, write it down.
For the coming generation, write it down.
For the remembrance of His kindness, write it down.
Though you dare not speak it, write it down.
Though you are poor of speech and needy in heart, write it down.
Though you are an unworthy vessel, write it down.
Though you stumble with your cross, write it down.
If you believe the Savior called you, write it down.
If you speak the truth in love, write it down.
If you’re redeemed by holy blood, write it down.
If He’s given you a story write it down.
So often I find it difficult to write. I write in bursts you see. Bursts that the Holy Spirit gives, in moments when my heart gives way and it feels like I can’t bear to keep something inside any longer. That burning persistent urging of the Holy Spirit, though He ever so gentle. It is gentleness I think, that calls us to obedience. He is firm, and clear, and unwavering. He is undoubtedly the Master as is true of all Lordship salvation, which is true salvation, but I find He is much more gentle than most of us imagine, or failing human examples care to imitate. He is unquestionably Lord, and He is gentle. This is my message to myself, and to you who read, to encourage you to “write it down”. However simple or profound the message might be (though I tend to pour out my heart into most of my writing :). You will never be sorry if you simply write it down, as you do so for the glory of God.
